4 New Mover Videos on Playhouse 2008-03-02 11:08:18
New Vids & Big Moves

If you haven't had the opportunity to join our make a link to external site:
email newsletter, please consider it -- you'll always get the latest, greatest info of the Movers.

Well, here's some news - four new vids will start debuting on Playhouse Disney soon. They are:

1) CAN YOU DO IT? - This is a brand new song although it's already a part of the Movers live show. We shot this as a faux concert. Our kids are sprinkled throughout the crowd, jumping and rocking out. This one is sure to get the kids up and moving.

2) CALLING ALL MOVERS - This punk/pop ditty is a high energy call for kids to 'reach high, think big, work hard and have fun!' The mini-story in the video is the Movers saving the day or at the very least a kitty cat from a tall tall tree. Amazing what we can accomplish when we gear up!

3) NUMBERS IN A BAG - This jazzy old school rap song takes listeners along on a 'dare I say' math journey of numbers in the real world. Also, look out for the Movers in their Barbershop get up. Doh!

4) The 'new' Disney Playhouse Anthem - You've probably heard bits of this one if you ever watch Playhouse Disney. It comes on 'almost always' between shows. Well now, you'll catch the entire song. This Movers original catalogs some of the characters you enjoy each and every day on Playhouse (Tigger, Johnny). To listen to it in its entirety, all you have to do is visit Playhouse Disney online (it's the song that plays in the background).

Playhouse Disney TV Series Announced 2007-06-07 12:06:03
From the Hollywood Reporter, June 7, 2007

Dis rocks with preschool 'Movers'
By Kimberly Nordyke

Disney Channel has given a series pickup to "Imagination Movers," a show for the preschool-targeted "Playhouse Disney" daily programming block that stars the New Orleans-based music group of the same name.

In addition, the group, whose music videos have been airing on Disney Channel since the fall, has signed with Walt Disney Records.

"Movers," which will include music performances, stories and skits, is intended to emphasize creative problem-solving skills and introduce "high-energy" rock music to kids. It will feature the band members as "everyday guy" brain-stormers working hard to solve "idea emergencies."

The band comprises former journalist Rich Collins, former teacher Scott Durbin, architect Dave Poche and Scott "Smitty" Smith, a New Orleans firefighter who was a member of the Hurricane Katrina search-and-rescue team. Three of the band members lost their homes, production office, instruments and props to Katrina.

The series, which begins production at the NIMS Center in New Orleans in early October, is targeted for a 2008 premiere.

"After seeing the musical group perform at Jazzfest 2005 in New Orleans, we were determined to find a way to bring their energetic and infectious music to preschoolers everywhere," Disney Channel senior vp original programming Nancy Kanter said. "They have already struck a resounding chord with our viewers through their music videos, and we look forward to adding this talented group to our series lineup."

Skot Bright and Sascha Penn are executive producers on the series. The band members are co-executive producing with Rick Gitelson.

In October, Walt Disney Records will release a "definitive introduction" to the Movers with a collection of songs titled "Juicebox Heroes," culled from the group's three albums. A new studio album will follow next year that will feature original songs from the series. The group is on tour.
Playhouse Disney Online and more 2007-05-26 11:01:28
ONLINE
The Movers have a presence on Playhouse Disney Online. The Movers are glad fans who look for any Mover information there will be rewarded for their surfing.

BEHIND THE EARS
Rich, Scott, Dave and Smitty were recently seen at the Magic Kingdom in Florida filming a spot for Disney 365 "Behind the Ears."

The segment will start airing at the beginning of June. Viewers will get the inside scoop on the "Little Ones Magic Hour" and the Playhouse Disney in Concert Series featuring such notables as Dan Zanes and Friends, Johnny & the Sprites and us.
New Vids Debut 2007-04-19 22:07:25
New videos are scheduled to roll on Playhouse Disney starting Saturday, April 21.

Here's how they shape up:

4/21: "Imagination Movers Theme Song"
Fitting that the song that starts off every live show is the first of the new videos to be seen on Playhouse.
Secret note: This one features the first glimpse of what the Idea Warehouse looks like on the inside.

4/23: "Seven Days a Week"
A Mover calendar comes to life and hilarity ensues. You'll definitely hear our 80s musical influences, such as Big Country and the Proclaimers, on this one.

4/25: "Shakable You"
Starts with an video homage to Talking Heads and strangely enough Bell Biv Devoe. You'll understand when you see it. Then it's Movers in three parts, literally.

4/30: "Farm"
One of the group's favorites. By the way, Annie the Cow happens to be an award-winning cow. We were in good company, folks. But don't ask Rich about the pig . . . at least we think it was a pig.

5/2: "Mover Music"
Cool. Only one word describes it. Thanks Trish for the 'gross' dance moves.
Secret: Gross = Dance Fever!
